Things which have been leaked for Genshin Impact 2.8

As Genshin Impact 2.8 is about to go live, data miners are beginning to reveal everything that's inside the new update. Among the most interesting findings so far: A major character from the original Genshin Impact appears as a free character. The first data-mined screenshots show Kazuha in her new costume, but it seems likely that she will have her classic one as well. A new sword has been added to the game. It has a high base attack, but it deals no damage on its own and is purely supplementary. Some players speculate that this sword is intended for a new character who will be revealed soon, but there's no solid evidence to prove this yet.  Kazuha's rerun is expected to appear as well, but there are currently no other details available regarding this event. We don't have long until we'll know everything that's coming in Genshin Impact 2.8, so stay tuned!

The latest Genshin Impact 2.8 leaks have confirmed that Kazuha will be returning from her vacation to the other side of the gate, but she'll be bringing some new friends with her. The original leaks covered a new sword, as well as a free character. The sword, which comes at an additional cost, is named "Stay Away From My Daughter," and it sets up a protective barrier around its user that reflects all projectiles back at the opponent. Excluding Kazuha, there are six playable characters in SEGA's latest fighting game. 

It's been two months since the last major update for Genshin Impact, but the wait is nearly over—on December 19th, we'll get a brand new character to fall in love with, a rerun of everyone's favorite swordfighter Kazuha, and a new weapon that's sure to make some waves.

The new character is named, and she'll be available for free for four days after her release. She has a magic-based attack style, so she'll fit in nicely with the rest of the cast. Plus she comes from Japan, so you can expect her to be full of personality!

Now, I know what you're really excited about: Kazuha is back! And this time she has a new level 3 skill that lets her duke it out with three enemies at once. As if that weren't enough, she also got an upgrade to her level 1 skill, which now makes it possible to dole out even more damage by attacking with the right timing and switching between your sword and your staff.

The latest info on the upcoming Genshin Impact update is starting to leak out, and it's looking pretty awesome. Naturally, it's far too early for me to be able to say for sure whether any of this is true, but I'm happy to get hyped over anything that sounds like it would be a huge improvement on the game.

Let's start with the big one: a possible return of Kazuha as a free character. In case you've been living under a rock and haven't heard, Kazuha was easily one of the best characters in the game during her time as being playable. A number of people have been begging for her return since she was taken out of rotation, so I would love to see this happen.

A new weapon is also rumored to be in the works, and if Genshin is going to give us some free stuff this month (which they absolutely should), I'd be super stoked if they let us choose between getting a free copy of Fischl or giving us an exclusive new weapon. 

As it happens, the AniFem staff is currently in the middle of a discussion on the contents of Genshin Impact 2.8, which will be officially released tomorrow. As it turns out, someone got their hands on a copy of the update and posted about it on social media, causing a flurry of discussions across the English-speaking community. Since these are all rumors at this point, we're not going to rehash them here—but we're monitoring the situation closely for any announcements from Cygames about what's coming in 2.8.
