Best foods in Minecraft 1.19 update

The Minecraft community is full of people with a wide range of skills and personalities, so it's not surprising that the food in their world is just as diverse. There are some foods that are almost universally loved, but there are also some items that you'll be hard-pressed to find anyone who likes. The newest version of Minecraft (1.19) introduced some new updates that have upped the popularity among kids even higher than before. Most notably, six new food items were added to the game, giving players more ways than ever to get creative when they're trying to create their own recipes. Here are five of the best and worst food items in Minecraft 1.19!

Top 5 food items to consume in Minecraft 1.19, including items that give special effects

5) Rabbit stew

Rabbit stew is the best food in Minecraft 1.19. It has a large food bar, making it a great choice for keeping hunger at bay during long journeys or extended fights. Its ingredients are easy to obtain, and the preparation is as simple as cooking a few pieces of meat in a pot with some vegetables. This hearty stew also grants a temporary speed boost, and it can even give you the strength to pick up a pumpkin and wield it as a weapon! To make a stew (likely one of the most useful dishes), start with a cooked rabbit and then add some mushrooms or carrots. Make sure not to put too many vegetables into it! You want meat as the main ingredient so that your character gains as much health points as possible.

4) Porkchop/Steak

Above anything else, I would say that a good meal is the most important thing in Minecraft 1.19 (and life in general). The problem with all other food items is that they are only really good while they are fresh, meaning you have to prepare them right before eating them, and you can't really take them with you on your adventures without a furnace and some spare time (I don't know about you, but I'm not always prepared for lengthy cooking sessions). This is where porkchops and steaks solve the problem perfectly! Porkchops restore 3 hunger points each and can be cooked in a furnace with 4 cobblestone blocks to create a steak. Steaks also restore 3 hunger points each, but they are stronger than porkchops because they have 8 experience instead of 4.

3) Golden Carrots

The update of Minecraft 1.19 brought some interesting changes to the game and one of them is that there is a greater variety of food in the game. These food items are part of a recipe, which is a great addition to the game because it adds a little bit more fun and challenge. If you are bored with your favorite food in the game, this post will provide you with some alternatives which are just as good but different.

Another thing that I like about the update is that it added golden carrots, which have many benefits for players who consume them. Golden Carrots provide extra health regeneration, resistance against poison and fire resistance.

2) Golden Apple

The best food items in Minecraft 1.19 are the Golden Apple, the Pumpkin Pie and the Ender Pearl. The Golden Apple is a food item that you can use to regenerate your health, hunger and saturation. It has the same healing value as the golden carrot but it restores hunger and saturation as well. The pumpkin pie recovers hunger but no other stats. The Ender Pearl is used for teleportation, which makes it one of the most important items in Minecraft 1.19 and gives it a place on this list.

1) Enchanted Golden Apple

Minecraft's food system is a bit strange. There aren't many types of food, and some of the ones that do exist are pretty useless. The biggest offenders are enchanted golden apples, which are supposed to be the most powerful food items in the game, but really just give you a little more health than regular apples. The other problem is that you can only grow them from seeds, and seeds drop when you kill witch-type mobs. We don't have an infinite supply of them (though they're not terribly hard to find), so we always end up with a bunch of apples that we have no use for.
