Things to do in Minecraft Creative Mode

Now that Minecraft is receiving a full upgrade to its graphics, it's hard not to look back on the original with nostalgia. Even though this update includes a brand-new engine and new textures, there are still plenty of things that can be done with the old engine—especially if you're willing to tinker around in Creative Mode. Here's a list of five things you can try in Creative Mode—it'll make you feel like you never left the days when everything was made of blocks!

5 best things to try in Minecraft Creative Mode

5) Break any block easily

In your travels through Minecraft, you've probably discovered that some blocks are easier to place than others. You might have also noticed how some blocks seem almost impossible to remove once they're in place. If you want to make it easy on yourself when building, try placing a block first and then shift-clicking on it with a different material. An air block will clear the one you clicked on out of the way and leave a small hole that you can fill in or leave empty as you please. You can use this technique on a variety of materials—for example, shift-clicking ice with water or sand will clear out snowballs or sand blocks respectively without leaving behind an empty space.

4) Play with commands

For those who don't know, Creative Mode is a game mode in Minecraft that lets you fly around your world and build anything you want without having to worry about monsters, hunger, or death. You can even use commands like /give, /summon, and /fill to spawn any items, creatures, or blocks you want. While Creative Mode has been available since the original release of Minecraft, the most recent version of the game added a whole bunch of new features to Creative Mode. This includes the addition of an interactive help system (accessible through typing /help ), which provides helpful suggestions on how to use all of the different tools available to you in Creative Mode.

3) Browse the Creative Mode inventory

In Creative Mode, there's an inventory where all the items are available to you at any time. You don't need to work hard to find these items; they're right there! Get your friends together and have them help you pick out what to use. Minecraft is a game of possibilities. Players can do anything they want, from building to exploring to fighting epic boss battles. Creative Mode takes all the challenges and the stress out of that limitless world. You can be a creator or a destroyer. It's your choice. If you have ever played Minecraft, you know it can be a lot of fun. But its appeal as an open-ended game that allows players to experience what it's like to build and create can also make it overwhelming at times. For those who are still learning the ropes about how to play, there is Creative Mode: a way to play with Minecraft's rules in a more guided manner.

2) Create megastructures with infinite blocks

We've picked out five things that are fun to try in Creative Mode. First, you can build all kinds of megastructures with infinite blocks, like giant statues and intricate castles. Second, you can explore other worlds by building portals that lead to other dimensions and planets. Third, you can make a huge model of your favourite thing with a few hundred thousand blocks or even a million or more. Fourth, if you're feeling ambitious, you can try to build the universe!

1) Fly around

In Creative Mode, you can fly around by holding the space bar. It's just like flying in creative mode in other games! You can build whatever you want from the air, like a spiral staircase or a castle on top of a mountain. One of the most satisfying feelings in Minecraft is taking off from the surface and watching the world shrink beneath you as you gain altitude. It's even more satisfying when you realize that your feet never actually left solid ground: just tap the spacebar and you'll soar into the air without having to build a single stairway first. Once airborne, try zooming away from the planet's surface and seeing how far you can get before being forced back down through lack of oxygen.
