BGMI has undoubtedly been the most popular battle royale game in the country. There are a couple of reasons which show us why the game received much audience attention as compared to the other new games. We all know that PUBG Mobile was banned in the country in September 2020. So, the developers of PUBG Mobile thought of bringing the game back to the country as BGMI. And BGMI has also been the most awaited game of all time, due to which the game broke many records when it had been launched in the country. BGMI also had a huge Esports scenario in the country even after being banned for a long time.

Since the game had been launched to the country, there are many Esports tournaments which have been played in the same. Here we would be discussing about the five biggest esports tournaments which have been played in BGMI ever since the game has been launched back in the country. BGMI provided a great boost to the Esports scenario for the Mobile players in India and also allowed them to reach good heights. But after the game’s ban, there are many content creators and Esports players who are still going through their bad times. The biggest tournaments played in BGMI are as follows-

Skyesports BGMI Championship 3.0

This tournament was unofficial and organized by Sky Esports which is one of the most popular Esports organizations all over the world. Unfortunately, the tournament took place online but it had a massive prize pool and featured the top teams in the country. The tournament started on 21st August 2021 and came to an end on 12 September 2021. It had a total prize pool of 26 lakhs INR which make it among the biggest Esports tournaments organized in BGMI. Godlike Esports were crowned as champions of the tournament.

BGMI Launch Party

Just after BGMI had been launched in the country, the developers organized a launch party for the game which happened online. This BGMI tournament took place in July 2021 and had all the top BGMI streamers invited to the same. It marked the highest concurrent viewership in any BGMI tournament passing half a million live viewers. Team Snax came out to be the winners of this intense tournament as they dominated a lot. Upon winning the tournament, Team Snax was awarded a total of 3.3 lakh INR as the prize money. Team Kronten secured 2nd place in the tournament.

Nodwin BGMI Masters

The first ever BGMI Lan event was organized by Nodwin in Delhi NCR. This tournament had the top BGMI teams invited as they fought against each other for a total prize pool of 1.5 crore INR. Along with that, it was for the first time in India that an Esports tournament got aired on Live television. This tournament was casted live on Star Sports marking a great start to the esports scenario of BGMI. Global Esports won the tournament and took away 26 lakh INR prize money as the winning amount.

BGIS 2021

The Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 was the first-ever official Esports tournament which was open-to-all in BGMI. This tournament ended in January 2022 as Skylightz Esports were crowned as the champions of the tournament. The tournament had a total prize pool of 1 crore INR which made it among the biggest Esports tournaments which have been organized for BGMI players. The tournament also provided a special slot to the team which won but it was Godlike Esports which secured the spot in the PMGC 2021. Due to passport issues, the top three teams of the tournament were unable to be a part of PMGC.

BMPS Season 1

Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series, Season 1 is the biggest BGMI tournament ever organized till date. This tournament had a total prize pool of 2 crore INR and it was open-to-all. Players actively participated in the same through the BMOC and the tournament was a huge success. Fan favorite Team Soul came out as the champions of the tournament which helped them to secure a huge chunk of the prize pool of the tournament. They took away 75 lakhs from the tournament prize pool and represented India in PMWI 2022.
