What's new in Minecraft 1.19.31 update?

Minecraft has been updated to version 1.19.31 on iOS, Android and Windows 10 devices. This app update includes several bug fixes and performance improvements, but it also introduces new features like the ability to change your username on Xbox Live and the ability to play with friends in split-screen mode on consoles. Here's a rundown of all the changes you can expect in this version of Minecraft:

New features:

Accessing Xbox Live from within Minecraft will now enable you to change your profile picture and avatar without having to log into Xbox Live first. It also allows players to see their friends' avatars and profiles, as well as their own current rank and level. You can now play Minecraft with friends in split-screen mode on Xbox One consoles when using a controller or mouse and keyboard.

You'll be able to access the previously released Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft from your Xbox One console via an update later this month. This will allow players who already own the game on Nintendo Switch or Xbox One S/X to continue playing multiplayer matches with fellow gamers around the world while they wait for their copy of Minecraft. Minecraft 1.19 is out, and it's packed with some big changes. Here are the patch notes for Minecraft 1.19.31, along with a list of everything that has changed since the last update:

Some more New Features

Added new world type: Flatlands (Plains biome)

Added new world type: Savanna (Savanna biome)

Added new world type: Taiga (Taiga biome)

Added new world type: Tundra (Tundra biome)

Added new music tracks to the ID Sounds category in the Sound Effects folder under Sound Effects in your MCP folder. These are not yet enabled by default in-game, but will be soon!

Bug Fixes

The biggest change in this update is that it finally lets you press Alt-Tab while playing Minecraft (if you're using a full-screen game). This means that you can switch to another program and still have your mouse cursor move around on the screen, which is a huge improvement over the previous version of Minecraft where Alt-Tab only worked when you were in windowed mode.

There's also a bunch of bug fixes included with this update, including one for an issue where characters would appear to stop moving after jumping off of a ledge or block. In addition to these bug fixes, there are also several smaller changes included with this update.

The Minecraft 1.19.31 update is small, but its fixes are significant. It's also a good reminder that the game still has a long way to go before it feels like an actual finished product, even after all this time. For example, the new Mojang-made cross-platform app is still missing key features, like Replay Mode and automatic updates — even though it's now available on iOS and Android.

But the biggest issue is probably the fact that this is just another version of Minecraft with new features and bug fixes, rather than a complete revamp of the game itself. That means there's no game-changing change in store for you — not yet anyway. It's a good time to check out what's new in Minecraft version 1.19, both for the hardcore and casual players alike. The Minecraft 1.19 update brings a lot of small changes that don't really stand out, but there are some notable improvements that should make playing more enjoyable for everyone. The new features include:

Creative Mode — this will let you build pretty much anything you want without having to worry about monsters or falling into the void!

The Nether — the Nether has been added to the game as an alternate dimension where all the monsters live! You'll have to fight them if you want your items back from the Nether.

New Villages — each player gets their own village so you can decorate it however you like!
