How Indian teams performed in PMWI 2022?

PUBG mobile World Invitational 2022 was a great tournament and it had made the Indian teams learn a lot. Team Soul and 7Sea Esports went to play the tournament representing the Indian teams. Unfortunately, due to lack of International level experience, it was not easy for both of the teams to perform well in the tournament. Team Soul played in the Main Event of the tournament against 17 other teams while 7Sea Esports played the After-party Showdown phase of the tournament against 11 other teams. Scout was the only player representing our country who had International experience.

Scout has been a great Esports player for PUBG Mobile and BGMI. He represented Team India in PMWL 2019 in which he tried his level best to bring the trophy for the country. Unfortunately, Team OR Esports finished that tournament at the 2nd position and it was an emotional moment for Scout and his team both. It has been just a few days since Scout is back from Riyadh as he went there for the LAN event. Recently, he also reacted to the performance of the Indian teams in the International Esports scenario.

The tournament had a total prize pool of 3 million US dollars. Main Event of the tournament had 2 million dollars as prize pool and the After-party Showdown had 1 million dollars. Indian teams failed to perform well in this tournament. Team Soul secured 11th position in the Main Event of the tournament while on the other hand 7Seas Esports secured 9th position in the After-party Showdown. The performance of these teams was definitely not up to the mark and they didn't reached the fans expectations. Let us now have a look what Tanmay Singh, also known as, Scout has said in his recent live stream about the performance of Indian teams at an international level.

Scout on Indian team's performance

We all know that PUBG Mobile was banned in the country during September 2020. It was not a good news for those who were playing Esports tournaments in PUBG Mobile and specially for the International players. Scout was also an International level Esports player but he revealed that he suffered a lot from the ban of PUBG Mobile and BGMI in the country. Due to the ban of PUBG Mobile, Team Godlike Esports was not able to perform well in PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021. And recently, the government imposed a ban on BGMI hindered the team preparations to a great extent.

There are many other questions asked to him by his fans to which he answered in his recent live stream. You can also check the stream as it has been uploaded on his channel. In the beginning of the stream, he said that he himself had much expectations from the performance of Indian teams like Soul and 7Seas Esports. But after the tournament, he got to know that the Indian teams need to learn a lot for the international tournaments. He said that the teams playing at an international level have improved themselves a lot due to which the Indian teams were not able to perform.

Along with that, Scout also said that BGMI needs to have a Global lobby feature so that the Indian teams could be able to compete against the International teams through practice scrims. But before that, it is important for the developers to do the necessary things which would unban the game at the earliest. He said that due to lack of practice in the International lobbies, the Indian teams were not able to perform well in the tournament.

PUBG Mobile ban came out to give a drastic change to the Esports scenario in India. Krafton then worked to launch the Indian version of PUBG Mobile and named it Battlegrounds Mobile India. BGMI was later launched in July 2021 but just after a year, it has been banned again from the country due to the same reason behind which the Government of India banned PUBG Mobile. In BGMI also the Indian teams were restricted to the Indian lobbies due to which they were not able to practice against the International level teams.
