Games which improve our Cognitive skills

Video games are not just a pastime, they can be an effective tool to improve your mental skills. The human brain is a complex organ that runs on electricity and chemicals. The brain produces its own energy, which is called glucose. The glucose travels through the bloodstream to the brain, where it is used to create energy for neurons (nerve cells). It's called a "brain-to-muscle" system. The more glucose you have in your blood, the more energy you have in your muscles and the better your brain will function.

Good nutrition is important because it helps create the glucose needed by the brain. As we age, our bodies produce less insulin and are unable to regulate blood sugar levels properly (insulin resistance). This causes elevated blood sugar levels that can contribute to cognitive decline as we get older.

Video games to increase Cognitive skills

1) Minecraft

Minecraft is a game that has been around for so long, it's easy to forget how revolutionary it was at the time of its release. It's an open-world game that allows players to explore the world by building their own creations out of the game's blocky blocks. Minecraft has grown in popularity over the years, and now comes with a wide variety of different mods that add new features and improve the gameplay experience. There are plenty of games out there that improve cognitive skills, but Minecraft is the one I recommend for most people who want to improve their brains.

2) Portal

Portal, released in 2007 by Valve Corporation and published by Electronic Arts, is a first-person puzzle game. It was the first game in the Portal series. The player controls Chell, a female test subject, who is placed into a testing chamber with an exit portal that leads to a mysterious Aperture Science laboratory on the moon. The player must use her portal gun to manipulate objects and solve puzzles while escaping from or killing turrets and robots.

The game's single-player campaign was accompanied by three downloadable expansions: "Half-Lives" (2009), "Distance" (2010), and "Co-op Campaign" (2011). In addition to its main campaign mode, Portal also features two competitive multiplayer modes

3) Starcraft

This sci-fi strategy game has been played by millions since its release in 1998. The objective is to destroy your opponent's base while protecting your own base. The game has two main factions: the Zerg and Protoss races. Each race has unique units and abilities that will require you to use strategy if you want to win.  Starcraft is a real-time strategy game where players construct and defend bases. It's one of the most popular games in the world, with a loyal community of players who play competitively. But it's also one of the most complex, challenging, and expensive games to play.

4) XCOM: Enemy Unknown

Enemy Unknown is a turn-based strategy game in which you must lead a paramilitary organization called XCOM to fight against an alien invasion. The game is set in the near future, where humanity has been engaged in a war with an extraterrestrial race known as the "invaders". The invaders have been holding humanity captive for hundreds of years, and it is up to you to fight back and retake Earth. Enemy Unknown focuses on combat tactics as you lead your squad through levels that range from urban environments to alien facilities. Each mission requires you to complete tasks such as escorting civilians or eliminating enemy soldiers in order to earn experience points and unlock new weapons and equipment for your arsenal.

5) Civilization VI

This game is a turn-based strategy game that focuses on the aliens invading earth. You have to control a group of soldiers and civilians who will fight against the aliens. The goal of this game is to keep humans alive while they try to destroy the aliens. This game is fun because you can play it with your friends. You can also play it online with other people from around the world. This game helps players improve their cognitive skills because it requires them to think about multiple things at once, like how to defeat an enemy or how to survive in a dangerous situation.
