Genshin Impact 2.8 update leaks

Just today, Genshin Impact 2.8 was leaked online by an anonymous source and revealed a couple of interesting things about the upcoming Diluc skin. The most notable of these new features include a couple of new effects and animations, which we're going to quickly break down right now.

First, one of the new effects is the "ghost walk" animation. This is an effect that makes your character appear as though they're walking against a black background while they move through the level. It can be seen in action on the Ruby skin in the picture above, and it honestly looks pretty cool in action.

And second, there's also a brand new burst animation that has been added to the game—and this one is also pretty cool, to say the least! It appears that you'll be able to summon a phoenix as part of your burst animation next patch, with its fiery feathers bursting out in all directions upon its release before heading off into battle with you. We've all seen fire effects before, but this is definitely one of the coolest ones yet!

The next skin set for the Genshin Impact 2.8 update, Diluc, is the first of its kind; it will bring a new burst animation, as well as a new particle effect to all of its skins. The current burst in the game, which is used on all other skins, is an explosion that happens once the ball has left the player's hands. This burst will remain unchanged but will be accompanied by a second explosion as soon as the ball makes contact with an opponent's skin.

Genshin Impact: New Burst animation and effects with upcoming Diluc skin revealed

This new animation will feature three different sets of effects. The first is a more traditional set of effects that are used in the game currently and will be used for the common base skin. The second set features a blue energy glow around Diluc's feet when he is using his dash, and then afterwards he will shoot off a mini burst blast that has a similar appearance to the explosion animation. His ultimate also has some changes making it look more like an explosion.

The final set of effects is mostly just particle effects, but they appear to be very shiny and gold-colored. Some of these include particles floating around while he dashes, as well as some different looking smoke trails from his ultimate.

These changes seem to suggest that this new skin will have a more "animation-based" focus than other skins currently in the game. It's possible that we could see additional animation-based skins in future releases, which could elevate how much time players spend in Champion Select waiting for picks/bans to finish up so they can get into game.

Genshin Impact leaks: Name of upcoming Diluc skin revealed and more

Genshin Impact leaks have been coming in thick and fast since the release of patch 1.3, but today marks the first time we've seen anything that could be considered concrete information. Previous rumours had suggested that the new skin to be released was named "Diluc", after the SIVA-empowered Titan who appeared in the Rise of Iron trailer. The name is not exactly subtle—but it's not very exciting either. This morning, a post was made to Reddit outlining how much of an upcoming Impact leak had been confirmed by internal sources (Reddit username: /u/MrClutch514). In the comments, this user has since been able to confirm that the skin will indeed be called "Diluc" with an L-U-C, although this may change before release. He also revealed that it will be a legendary skin, and that it will include a new skating animation. We're yet to hear any more details on what this animation will entail, but we do know it won't be based on any existing Titan class ability—so we can rule out Fist of Havoc and Striker's Jet Propulsion as possibilities. A new skin seems to have leaked for the upcoming champion, Genshin Impact. A datamining of the latest patch has revealed that the skin is named "Diluc," and will be a legendary tier skin. The name is a reference to the mythological god Dolichenus, who is often depicted as a bearded man with a lion's head.
