League of Legends MSI Day 1 Highlights

Day 1 of the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) for League of Legends 2022 started off with a bang. The first game of the tournament was between last year's MSI champion, SK Telecom T1, and Taiwan's Flash Wolves. T1 lost the series 0-2, but it wasn't all bad news for them as they were able to pick up their first win in the second game against G2 Esports.

T1 had a slow start in game one, giving Flash Wolves plenty of chances to take advantage. FW was not able to close out the lead that they built though and eventually T1 was able to turn things around and take back the game. In-game 2 T1 managed to take a sizable lead early on, but they could not close out the game before their opposition made their comeback. Taking advantage of mistakes that T1 made in their late-game macro play, G2 Esports took down SK Telecom T1. T1 went 0-2 in today's games but at least they were able to get their first win, hopefully, they will continue this momentum as they move forward in the tournament.

The first day of group stage play at the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational has concluded, and Group A is on track to be one of the closest groups in the tournament. With only a single game separating G2 Esports (7-1, 18/20) from T1 (6-2, 16/20), Group A has set up an exciting second day where any team could take control of the standings. The remaining three teams in Group A are still playing their first game, so there's still time for them to enter a tie for the top spot.

G2 Esports had a perfect showing today with two wins over Team Liquid, but their first match against T1 is sure to be a highlight of MSI Day 2. These teams have met previously at this tournament two years ago in 2018 MSI Group Stage Day 1, where G2 came out with a 3-2 win. G2 also had another close call against T1 in 2015 MSI Group Stage Day 2, losing 3-2 in that match as well. Their performance against T1 will likely be a deciding factor in their ability to advance to the knockout stage with the number one seed in their group.

Day 1 results at League of Legends Mid Season Invitational 2022

The League of Legends Mid Season Invitational 2022 is set to begin on May 12, 2022. With the teams having been seeded based on their performance in the Spring Split and Summer Split, they will be facing off against each other in a week-long tournament that will decide who is the best team in the world at this point of time. The first few days of the tournament will feature a series of Best-of-1 matches between pairs of teams, with the winners advancing to Day 2 and the losers being eliminated from the competition.

The group stage will be held at the Grand Palladium Arena in Las Palmas, Spain. The playoffs are scheduled for May 24-26, 2022 at the Dôme de Marseille in Marseille, France. The grand finals for MSI 2022 are scheduled for May 27th at Stade de Lyon in Lyon, France.

The first day of the Mid-Season Invitational for League of Legends 2022 is in the books and we have a few surprises. The biggest one is the huge upset that took place in Group A. World Champions Gen.G, fresh off their victory at Worlds, was knocked out by a surprising upset from Thailand's Bangkok Titans! The Titans' win showed that they will not be overlooked after winning the Southeast Asian Championship earlier in the season. Group B has not been quite as exciting as Group A, but there has been some close matches so far with both Team SoloMid and Royal Never Give Up on the winning end of those games.

In Group C, Flash Wolves have done what they always do: make it to the Knockout Stage. They did so despite losing a game to Edward Gaming earlier today. Meanwhile, Fnatic needed an ace in the hole to beat Team Liquid, who were looking unstoppable coming into this tournament. In Group D, Invictus Gaming and SK Telecom T1 are already undefeated after their wins today. Will they continue their dominant streak?
