Guide to unlock Mei in Overwatch 2

Mei has two main abilities, her primary fire and her secondary fire. Her primary fire shoots icicles that deal damage over time, and the secondary fire shoots a beam that deals more damage but is less accurate. This ability can be upgraded twice to increase its damage and range, making it a very strong offensive option.

Mei also has a passive ability called Cryo-Freeze which allows her to freeze enemies in place for as long as she stays in range of them. Her shield also protects her from enemy fire, so she can be useful when surrounded by enemies trying to attack you. Mei is a great character to play as, but it's not always easy to know what her abilities are. In this guide, we'll explain everything about Mei's abilities, including how she can use them and where they can be used.

Mei's Abilities

Mei's primary weapon is an anti-ice cannon called the Cryo-Freeze, which shoots a freezing blast that freezes targets in place. Mei can also use her secondary weapon, a throwing projectile called "Ice Wall." This projectile creates a wall of ice that blocks enemies' view of Mei. Mei can also create an ice wall with her ultimate ability: Blizzard. This ability creates a large snowball that deals heavy damage to enemies within range (and slows them down). Blizzard also makes Mei immune to enemy attacks while she remains stationary on top of the snowball.

The best way to unlock Mei is through playing matches and winning them using her teammates (either 1v1 or 2v2). There are two other ways to get Mei though: by completing the story mode or by purchasing from the shop using earned credits or loot boxes. Mei is a defensive character. She can protect an area, block enemy attacks, and even heal allies with her Cryo-Freeze ability. Mei has some of the best mobility in her kit and can move around the map quickly.

Mei's abilities are all about defense and protection. Her Cryo-Freeze can be used to freeze enemies for as long as she wants, block projectiles from reaching you, or even heal teammates with it. Mei's Ice Wall ability is another way to protect yourself from being hit by enemies. The wall blocks any incoming fire and can be used to retreat or dive into a fight at any time.

Mei also has a lot of mobility on her own thanks to her Ice Wall ability and the speed boost from her Snowball ultimate ability. With these abilities at your disposal, you'll be able to protect your teammates from harm while still being able to take out enemies in front of you with ease!

Unlocking the character

Mei is a hero who can be unlocked in Overwatch 2. To unlock Mei you need to complete the main story campaign, then select her in the character selection screen. Mei is one of the most powerful characters in Overwatch 2, with an arsenal of abilities that can turn the tide for her team. She's not just about defense either — if you're quick enough, she can freeze enemies in place with her Cryo-Freeze ability and use her Blizzard ultimate attack to deal massive damage to multiple enemies at once.

Her ultimate ability, Endothermic Blaster, grants her team a powerful barrier that absorbs all damage for a short period of time. This makes Mei an incredibly useful defensive hero who can keep your team safe while they attack or recover health during battle. Mei is one of the most fun characters in Overwatch. She's got a strong arsenal of abilities, she can use her ice to slow down enemies or freeze them solid, and she can even turn herself into a block of ice to protect herself from incoming fire.

But there's one thing that always bugged me about Mei: she was always locked behind a level 5 requirement. You had to get her before you could unlock her. If you wanted to get her on your main account, that meant you had to play with some other character for a while first in order to get the necessary experience levels. It's not just a matter of getting her unlocked — you should also buy her skin when it becomes available on the Overwatch PTR. The skin costs $15 and unlocks Mei's special "Blizzard" skin (which looks like she has snowstorm powers).
