Best SNES RPG Games of all time

The SNES is a system known for its RPGs. It has some of the most iconic titles, like Earthbound and Super Mario RPG. In fact, not even The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild can compete with the number of RPGs that are on this system.

But what about now? What are the best SNES RPGs that you should revisit in 2022? Here are our picks!

5) Final Fantasy II

Final Fantasy II is one of the most well-known RPGs on the SNES, and its blend of random battles with strategic planning makes it an excellent choice for retro gamers looking to experience classic JRPGs on modern hardware. It's also worth noting that this game was one of the first to feature fully voiced dialogue for every character in its story - something that became a standard feature in later titles from Squaresoft.

The plot is fairly simple, but enjoyable nonetheless. You play as a young man who journeys across a strange land in order to find out what happened to his village before it was destroyed by an evil empire called Palamecian. Once you arrive at your destination, you'll find out that Palamecian has taken control over your hometown and turned everyone into mindless slaves known as "mogs."

4) Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals

Lufia 2 is a classic SNES RPG that has been remade and re-released countless times. The game follows the adventures of a young girl named Selan in a world where monsters and magic exist alongside humans. Her journey will take her across many different lands and through many battles against evil forces.

Lufia 2 was one of the first SNES RPGs to feature turn-based combat, which made it stand out in an era when everyone was playing action games like Final Fantasy VI and Dragon Warrior. The game also featured some amazing music that could be best described as opera-esque. It's no wonder that Lufia 2 has become such a popular remake over the years!

3) Final Fantasy III

This is one of my favorite games from the SNES era. It's a role-playing game that combines elements from many other genres, including adventure and RPG. Final Fantasy III is an excellent game with a great story and characters that are well-written and memorable. It has a unique setting, which makes it stand out from other RPGs at the time. The gameplay is also fun and challenging, with plenty of options for players to choose from when playing through the game. Final Fantasy III was originally released in 1994 for the SNES, but it's still available as an emulator to play today.  Final Fantasy III is the best RPG on the SNES. It's also one of the best games ever made. It's a long, winding story with some incredible twists and turns, and it's bursting with memorable characters that you'll love to hate or love to save.

2) Chrono Trigger

The SNES is known for having a number of fantastic RPGs, but Chrono Trigger is one of the best games out there. It's a bit long for its own good, but it has so much to offer that it's worth playing through again and again. The story follows Crono as he goes on an adventure with his friends from their home dimension to stop an evil force from destroying the world they call home. Along the way they'll meet many memorable characters and learn more about their pasts along with their futures. Chrono Trigger is one of the most beloved SNES RPGs of all time, and it's easy to see why. It offers a unique blend of sci-fi adventure, action-oriented combat and RPG elements. The characters are memorable and the story is captivating.

1) EarthBound

EarthBound, developed by Shigesato Itoi, is a classic JRPG that has been loved by many gamers for years. The game follows the adventures of a young boy named Ness and his friends as they try to save their town from an alien invasion. Players can explore towns and dungeons, fight enemies, collect items and use them in battle, and even marry other characters. The game's soundtrack is also one of its best features.

With all these things in mind, it's no surprise that EarthBound is one of the most beloved games on the SNES library. If you're interested in playing it again or just want to experience what made it so popular in the first place, here are five great ways to do this!
