Vehicles which are good to drive in Video Games

The first thing to know about driving in video games is that it's never quite the same as driving in real life. If you want to enjoy a game and not get frustrated, you have to let go of your preconceptions about how things "should" work. Here are five car rides from games you might think are realistic, and five that are just plain weird. The best cars in video games are sleek, fast, and fun to drive. Some of them make you feel like a superstar driver straight out of a car commercial. Others make you want to throw your controller through the TV in frustration. Here are a few of my favorites:

Smoothest rides in video games

1) Warthog - Halo

When it comes to the vehicles of gaming, there are a lot of ups and downs. Some vehicles are clunky and hard to control, while others are fast, agile, and fun to drive. Many times, games that include vehicles also go out of their way to ensure that you have plenty of opportunities to use them. Here are five of the best: 1. Warthog - Halo Warthogs are the best vehicles in video games. They're fast, maneuverable, and can be devastatingly powerful when used correctly. In Halo 3 and its sequels, you can steer by tilting the left thumbstick in any direction, making for an intuitive experience.

2) Batmobile - Batman Arkham Knight

The Batmobile is an iconic vehicle—it's basically Batman's most-beloved sidekick. Its slick, black exterior and its cool gadgets make it really fun to drive, which is probably why it was featured in almost all of the Batman video games. As for me, I'd say that my ride would probably be the Batmobile from Batman: Arkham Knight (some people call it “Batman with a tan”—I call it “Batman with a tan and some sick rims”). The game made so many improvements on the controls from previous installments in the series that it truly felt like you were driving a tank over Gotham City's streets (in a good way).

3) Horse - Red Dead Redemption 2

We're all familiar with the concept of a horse: you hop on, you point it in the direction you'd like to go, and off you go. It's very straightforward, but there is one aspect that might be less obvious: how smooth the ride is. Depending on how well your horse can move over terrain and other factors, it can make or break your experience with them. In a game like Red Dead Redemption 2, riding your horse smoothly is essential—you're not just moving from point A to point B and that's it. You need to be able to entertain yourself along the way, whether it's by taking in the beautiful scenery or having a shootout against some rival gang members.

4) Sunwings - Horizon Forbidden West

On a recent trip to the Forbidden West, I was surprised by the inclusion of a ride that wasn't in my guidebook: Sunwings. I was even more surprised when I found out how smoothly it ran. After riding it, I couldn't help but wonder if this was one of the smoothest rides in all of video games.

I'm sure some of you are familiar with the ride, but for those who aren't, Sunwings is a four-seated flight machine in which you fly around and explore the Forbidden West. Its calming nature provides an excellent counterpoint to the intense gladiator fights that take place just beyond its doors. But what really sets this ride apart from other video game rides is its smoothness. It's like floating on a cloud—the controls are so responsive that you'll barely notice you're moving at all, even as you dip and dive through clusters of clouds or glide across the landscape.

5) X-Wing - Star Wars: Battlefront 2

X-Wing is a classic game of the Star Wars franchise, and we can all agree that it's one of the smoothest rides in the series. The way the speeder bikes soar and weave through those craggy canyons on Endor is just plain beautiful, especially for Star Wars fans. I don't know if it's nostalgia or what, but there's something about this level that really makes you feel like you're flying. It's pretty hard to top the original Battlefront 2 version of X-Wing, but with some updated graphics and a better balancing of gameplay, Battlefront 2 comes pretty close to doing just that.
