PlayStation and Xbox have always been in competition against each other for a very long time. They even release new versions of their consoles corresponding to each other because of which there is evenly tough competition between both of them. But there was one thing which PlayStation did not perform for a long time in order to compete with Xbox and the best thing is that they have been working on it for a long time. Yes, you guessed it right, Sony is now about to launch the PlayStation Pass for all the PlayStation users sooner than the players think.

 

Players have been waiting for Sony to introduce something like the Xbox Game Pass for PlayStation users. But the developers have not been responding the same for a long time and now finally it seems like the developers have fully worked upon the same and they would be launching the PlayStation Pass in just 1-2 months' time. The developers had already hinted to the players that something like the Xbox Game Pass is about to be released for PlayStation users, but they never revealed when it would be launched. Fortunately, now they have revealed that the PlayStation Pass would be available for all users in June 2022.

Still, the players are now waiting for a tentative date when the PlayStation Pass would be officially available to them. There are a number of things that the developers have revealed and a number of them which they are expected to reveal soon. There would be more than 700 games that the players would be able to fully access upon purchasing the PlayStation Plus for themselves. Moreover, now the players will also be able to have an add-on to the previous memberships which they are holding in their PlayStation account. There would be some new benefits which would be provided to them for the same.

 

The main things about the same have been revealed by the company and the players now have a rough idea of how the PlayStation Plus would be and will it be able to compete with Xbox game Pass or not. The developers have revealed that the PlayStation Plus would be divided into a total of three categories. These would be Essential, Extra, and Premium with the Premium being the costliest. All of these plans depend upon the needs of the players and also what type of games do they want to enjoy with their PlayStation Plus. 

 

Will it be a tough competitor to Xbox Game Pass?

There are many rumors regarding what the pricing or the model of the PlayStation Plus would be in order to compete with the Xbox Game Pass. Many people even revealed that the developers would be following a Spartacus Subscription Model that would be helpful to them in competing in the market. Although, none of these leaks were true as the developers have said and the developers have also revealed things about the same. Moreover, they also revealed the Subscription Model which is easier to understand.

 

Players would be receiving the highest benefits through the Premium Model of the PlayStation Plus and also this would be costing them more than the other two models. The developers saw the rise in the sale of Xbox consoles after they had introduced the Xbox Game Pass. Through this, they have realized that now the players love to have monthly subscriptions and not pay the full amount of the game. Along with that, Sony had said this about the different models of the PlayStation Plus-

“The tiers represent a major evolution for PlayStation Plus. With these tiers, our key focus is to ensure that the hundreds of games we offer will include the best quality content that sets us apart. At launch, we plan to include titles such as Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and Returnal.”

 

So, if you have been a PlayStation owner or are looking to buy a PlayStation of your own, then this is the best time when you should get one for yourself. It even looks like the developers would be giving some offers in the form of discount to the users when the PlayStation Plus would be officially launched.
