The ban on PUBG Mobile and BGMI has affected the Indian Esports scenario to its peak as players used to go for International Mobile Esports tournaments through the same. But after the ban, it seems that the performance of the Indian teams has altered because they were not able to practice in the game for long. We all know that PMGC (PUBG Mobile Global Championship) 2022 has started and all the BGMI content creators are doing a watch party for the same. Mortal joined the group where a popular Pakistani streamer MrJayPlays was also present and JayPlays asked some questions to Mortal about the Indian Gaming community.
Mortal responded to all the questions and said,
They underperform due to their underconfidence and nothing else as they have the skills. Underconfidence persists when one is not mentally prepared to face global teams. Players can get better if they start preparing themselves mentally. That’s all. Considering our skills, we are at par with global teams.
He said that the Indian teams have great potential but the ban imposed on the game has affected the confidence level of the players. This is the main reason why Indian teams are able to dominate in the regional tournaments but fail to show their domination in the Global tournaments. Many of the popular Esports teams like Team Soul, Godlike Esports, and 7Sea Esports have performed consistently well in Indian tournaments. But when they went to represent the country in International events, they did not perform well enough to dominate.
Other teams who play on the International level have been doing the same for a long time. Indian teams were unable to practice for the International tournaments after the ban of the game which might have altered their performance upon the same. However, Mortal thinks that the Indian teams have been performing well in other Esports games like Valorant and much more and the Indian Esports scenario is all set to grow in the near future.
Are Indian teams lacking Mental preparation?
Battlefields Mobile India was released in July 2021 and the game was also named India ka Battlegrounds. Many people thought that it would be able to replace PUBG Mobile as the latter was banned in the country due to security reasons in September 2020. This happened well as BGMI looked forward to being the best possible replacement
BGMI also gave hope to the Indian Esports players that the game would be growing the Esports scenario of the country. Fortunately, BGMI helped the Indian Esports scenario to grow a lot as the developers did many official Esports tournaments with high prizes. Along with that, BGMI was the first ever Indian Mobile game whose tournaments have been cast live on the Television. Mortal also said that not only the Indian teams are unable to perform well, but the same is happening with most of the Esports teams that played in the South Asian region. During the first day of PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2022, Mortal was doing the watch party of the same along with MrJayPlays.
Jehanzeb asked Mortal some questions about the performance of Indian and Pakistani teams in the Global tournaments. It can also be seen that the Pakistani teams are also unable to perform well in the Global Championship. Then Mortal talked about the lack of confidence that all the teams in the South Asian region are having in the International tournaments. He also said that all the teams have similar skill sets but here the main game is regarding the confidence level. The Chinese teams have high confidence levels because of this it is nearly impossible for the other teams to stop their domination.
Therefore, it can be said that if the Indian teams have the level of confidence that all the teams playing at the International level have, they would be able to easily dominate over there. Along with that, Mr. Jay Plays also agreed upon the same and informed the fans that the Indian and Pakistani teams would soon be performing well and dominating the Esports scenario of PUBG Mobile at the Global level.
